The process

Eight steps, one process

Alex prepares the analysis and the documentation, the Alter5 team reviews them, and the company decides at each step.

  1. STEP 01

    Defining the transaction

The analysis starts from the purpose of the financing (growth, transition, acquisition or refinancing), the estimated amount and the time horizon.

No lengthy sign-ups or preliminary calls.

Alex — parameters of the transaction
  2. STEP 02

Identifying the company and its context

Alex identifies the company from its tax ID (CIF), retrieves its Mercantile Register data and adds information from the corporate presentation, website and LinkedIn profile.

    Confidential treatment from the outset.

Alex — context of the company and the transaction
  3. STEP 03

    Providing the accounts

The company provides its audited accounts (PDF or Excel), its provisional year-end figures and, where available, the latest quarterly figures. Alex extracts the key figures for the analysis.

Accounts in PDF or Excel; no templates to complete.

Alex — accounts provided for the analysis
  4. STEP 04

    Clarifications and confirmation of figures

Alex raises only the questions needed to complete the data, and the company confirms each figure before the process continues.

No action is taken without the company's confirmation.

Alex — clarifications before launching the analysis
  5. STEP 05

    Analysis in five sections

The analysis is organised into five sections: financial, sector, operations, structuring and conclusions. The Alter5 team reviews each of them.

The analysis continues even if the tab is closed.

Alex — analysis in five sections
  6. STEP 06

    Report and financing scenarios

The report sets out an executive summary, a comparison of financing scenarios, credit ratios and debt service coverage, and is the basis on which the company and Alter5 decide how to present the transaction.

Alex — report with financing scenarios
  7. STEP 07

    Documentation for lenders

Alex drafts the anonymised summary, the indicative term sheet and the financial model. The Alter5 team reviews them, and the company approves each document before authorising distribution.

Each document is prepared in a named and an anonymised version, in Spanish and English.

  8. STEP 08

    Distribution tracking

Once distribution is authorised, the tracking dashboard shows the lenders assessing the transaction, the term sheets received and the lenders that have declined.

    Distribution status on the dashboard.
