Alter5 originates, structures and distributes institutional financing and investment, cutting the cost and lead time of traditional processes.
- Mutua Ventures' investment will support the company's expansion and its business, and the addition of new strategic partners.
- Alter5 has originated and distributed more than €300 million since inception and has been EBITDA- and net-profit-positive since early 2025, without taking balance-sheet risk.
Madrid, October 2026. Mutua Ventures, the Mutua Group's vehicle for developing innovative businesses and accelerating ideas, has added a new company to its portfolio with the acquisition of a 10% stake in Alter5, a Spanish artificial-intelligence platform for the capital markets and institutional investment. The investment will allow Alter5 to grow its business, advance its technology and accelerate its expansion plans.
Founded in 2021 by Salvador Carrillo and Miguel Solana, Alter5 operates as digital infrastructure in two segments: corporate financing for SMEs and midcaps to fund expansion and investment in the energy transition and sustainability; and project finance for renewable energy and infrastructure.
Since inception, the company has originated and distributed more than €300 million in financing and capital for corporate transactions and for renewable energy, energy storage, mobility, data centre and infrastructure projects.
The company has one of the largest institutional investor bases in Europe, spanning banks, debt funds, asset managers, insurers, pension funds and family offices. Alter5 has also been backed by the European Investment Fund since 2021, with new guarantee programmes available from this year.
«Alter5 has built a differentiated proposition in a market with high growth potential. It stands out for its distinctive model, with no balance-sheet risk, EBITDA-profitable and net-profit-positive, and for a highly qualified management team with extensive experience in both finance and technology»
For Alter5, Mutua Madrileña's investment is a significant endorsement of its business model and of its growth potential in a rapidly expanding sector.
«The transaction comes at a time when banks, insurers and asset managers are seeking greater exposure to real assets and alternative financing, yet still rely on labour-intensive processes and fragmented distribution networks. Alter5 provides the technology layer that multiplies these institutions' origination and distribution capacity, shortens execution times and allows alternative investment products to be manufactured more efficiently, without building a platform of their own»

Alongside its investment activity, Mutua Ventures also runs Mutua's Intrapreneurship Programme, which since 2015 has held an annual call encouraging employees to develop, in teams, innovative ideas that can become real projects to improve the company's business, products or services.
